Purvottar Ke Sitare is one of our flagship programmes, in which every week we will introduce you to someone special, who has worked tirelessly for the betterment of India’s northeastern region or achieved something significant as an individual.
In the latest episode, our Editor-in-Chief Sanjeev Srivastava introduces you to Hekani Jakhalu, a social entrepreneur who runs YouthNet in Kohima, Nagaland. After having studied abroad and practiced law in the Supreme Court in Delhi, Hekani decided to move back to Kohima and set up YouthNet with the help of her friends and some very experienced, visionary bureaucrats. Besides livelihood and employment, main focus of YouthNet is on entrepreneurship. Jakhalu’s organisations have enabled hundreds of young Nagas to stand on their own feet by helping them find jobs and start their business.
