The world is going crazy over Pokemon Go, but fans of the iconic Pokemon series in India have been left disappointed, as India did not feature in the list of countries where the game was launched in the first phase.
Ash Ketchum and Pikachu hold a legendary status in the eyes of 90’s kids and when the game was announced, Indian fans were excited to revisit their childhood, however, we were kept in the waiting list by the makers, Niantic.
Well worry not my Pokemon fans from India, as we at EditPlatter have got your back, we have found a way for you to play Pokemon Go in India, on both Android and iOS.
The first thing you need to do is tweek your phone’s settings to allow unknown APK file installation.
1. Go to Settings >> Security>> Tap Unknown sources. A message pops up saying—”Your Phone and personal data are more vulnerable to attack by apps from unknown sources. You agree that you are solely responsible for any damage to your phone or loss of data that may result from using these apps” and press OK.
3. Once the game is installed, you need to change your location to USA, New Zealand or Australia and “VOILA” you can now play Pokemon Go in India.
Ah, my fellow iPhone user, this ain’t gonna be easy my friend, but I’m sure being an Apple fan-boy, you must be accustomed to doing things the hard-way.
So, lets begin.
Step 1: Go to Settings> sign out from your Apple ID
Step 2: Go to the App Store and click on a free app or game
Step 3: You will be prompted to sign in, at this point click to create a new ID.
Step 4: Fill out the information, but fill out the address having pin/zip codes from any of the official regions (New Zealand/Australia/ U.S.A.).
Step 5: Confirm your new Apple ID via email
Step 6: Go to App Store, search Pokémon Go. Click on it, then choose to swap to the chosen region’s App Store.
Oh, and once the game has released officially in India, you can go back to using your original apple-id, and don’t worry, your in-game progress will be backed up on Cloud storage.
